As the temperature rises, swimming suits and shorts come out of the closet, flip flops get dusted off, and all thoughts of winter are left behind. Summertime means yards work outside, days at the beach, and outside fun with the family. However, the intense summer sun can cause skin damage and cancer, so using sunscreen is a daily necessity, especially during all those outside activities.
The purpose of a sunscreen is to block the harmful UVA and UVB radiation from the sun. This radiation damages all skin types, from those who are fair to those who have a dark complexion or tan easily. In fact, a reliable sunscreen is necessary even on a cloudy day because the cloud layer does not block this radiation. All sunscreens carry a Sun Protection Factor or SPF. The SPF rating shows how the product performs in protecting against UVB radiation. Wearing a sunscreen of SPF 15 daily will help prevent the sun’s damaging effects. It is recommended to apply sunscreen at least 30 minutes before sun exposure. During the summer most people flock to the beaches, so some sunscreens are designed to be water-proof or sweat-proof.
Most of the sunscreens available on the market block damaging radiation through a concoction of different chemical ingredients. These products are normally in the forms of creams or sprays. Once sunscreen is applied onto the skin, the chemicals work to both reflect and scatter the radiation, or absorb it. In recent years, there have been many questions raised about the safety and effectiveness of these chemicals. Some scientists claim these chemicals produce free radicals, which actually increase skin damage and the risk of skin cancer, rather than lowering it. Another concern is that these synthetic chemicals may accumulate in the human body, and can actually reach the blood stream by being absorbed through the skin. Since the goal of using a sunscreen is to protect the body, and not harm it, many consumers have turned to using organic sunscreen to protect their families.
Organic sunscreens, like Weleda, use a combination of naturally occurring herbs, plant proteins, and minerals to provide sun protection. Some organic sunscreens are infused with vitamins to benefit your skin. Different types of organic sunscreens are available including creams, sprays, and powders which all carry appropriate SPF ratings. Organic powder sunscreens are mineral based, and are perfect for everyday protection. Minerals commonly found in organic sunscreen are titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. One advantage of choosing the organic sunscreens over the chemical ones is they reduce the risk of skin irritation. Those with sensitive skin will especially benefit from the skin soothing properties of organic ingredients.
Before you hit the beach this summer it is imperative you remember to apply a quality sunscreen. The varieties of organic and chemical based sunscreens are endless. Choose a sunscreen that is good for your skin, has an appropriate SPF rating, and is designed for your activity. Using this must have item now, will benefit your skin for years to come.

Lockets are great gifts because they can be very personal. Aside from that, they can also be handed down from generation to generation, making it very memorable and unique. Let’s talk more about lockets and some gift ideas to go with them for Mother’s Day.
Lockets are typically attached to chain and worn around the neck as necklace. They usually contain a photo, which could either be of the giver, the receiver or both. However, lockets aren’t only worn around the neck. Today, there are so many kinds of lockets you’ll find available, and not just those with the classic design. There are even now lockets that come as a charm bracelet, and this can be worn all the time and anywhere. Lockets are great gift ideas because they come in a wide range of shapes like hearts, circles and ovals. Lockets can also be made of various materials such as silver and gold. Lockets aren’t just intimate gifts, but they are also considered decorative.
The Photo - Now if you plan to buy a locket for mom to receive on Mother’s Day, consider what photo and how many you are going to place in the locket. Lockets often hold just a single photograph or two. However these days you can have a locket specially made to hold more than 5 pictures! You may also choose to have spinner lockets that are able to spin freely while hanging from the necklace. This is a very vintage style that your mom might be fond of.
Not Just Photos - Photographs aren’t the only things that a locket can contain. There are so many gift ideas out there specifically for lockets. You may purchase a locket with a tiny cushion inside, where you can place some perfume inside so that each time the wearer opens the locket, she can enjoy a sweet aroma.
Personal Touch - There are lots of ways to personalize your Mother’s Day gift. Take for example the secret locket gift idea. You can hide secret messages at the back of a photo that’s to be placed in the locket. You can right a simple message to mom that says “Happy Mother’s Day” or write a short poem! Or you can even write on a tiny scroll and keep it in the locket to surprise mom.
Choose The Design - There are other special designs available as fantastic gift ideas. Lockets may come with a glass opening so that the inside is visible even when it isn’t opened. These lockets are sometimes preferred because they are quite durable. They don’t need to be opened for you to view a picture, and so will last for years to come.
Buying Your Locket - Now that you know a little bit about lockets and how they make great gift ideas, learn how to choose the best one for mom to receive on Mother’s day. There are just two things to consider when buying a locket to make as a gift. First, think about something that will make the locket intimate, like a photo or message.
Another thing you need to consider is the style of the locket. What design do you think your mom prefers? She might like simple lines and elegance, in which case you can get her a plan heart locket with a single diamond stud in the middle. If she’s more into intricate designs, you may buy a Victorian style locket. As you can see, there are so many gift ideas for Mother’s Day when it comes to lockets.

Almost everyone over the age of 18 (or 21) has or wants a credit card these days and they are taken in almost every establishment. There are three major types of credit card common in America. The first main kind of credit card is travel and entertainment cards such as American Express or Diners Card. These have to be repaid completely by the end of the month and are generous on spending limits.
The second major kind of credit card is the bank card such as Visa, Master Cards, GM, and Ford cards distributed mostly by the banks. The bank defines the spending limit, which in bank parlance, is known as the credit line and each bank offers different terms and conditions. Banks offer a choice of payment methods: you may either repay the balance in full with no interest charges or pay the minimum (or some part of the balance) with an interest.
The other major sort of card is the retail store card, such as Sears, J.C. Penney, Shell or Mobil. These store cards and those issued by gas companies, which are usually known as fuel cards, are only accepted in specific countries. They hardly ever carry annual charges. There is a large variance in the terms and conditions for these cards.
Different sorts of credit cards offer different options. Some are geared toward individual consumers, while others are set up in ways that work best for small business needs. To know what kind of credit card fits your needs, you should review a few options.
How to Choose a Credit Card.
Credit cards have become a part of everyday life for most people living in the western countries. It’s becoming increasingly impossible to avoid them, especially for business men. So, if it is the first time you are thinking of entering into the world of plastic money, here are some of the basic things you should look out for.
First, compare the interest charged by all the credit cards you are interested in. While the rate will not remain fixed for ever, it’s always better for beginners to go for the one charging the least interest.
Make sure you read the fine print carefully, especially on the other charges that can be made, like late-payment fees, annual fees, and whether there is a grace period.
Decide what spending limit is most appropriate for a person of your income. Also the fewer credit cards you have, the better placed you are to track your spending.
You should compare the services and other features such as the cash back incentives, or warranties, rebates and such like and check whether the card is accepted widely enough to suit your needs.
You will help yourself by acquainting yourself with the following terms: 1] Annual Percentage Rate: this is the yearly cost of the credit. 2] Finance Charges: these are the total charges involving the transaction. 3] Period of Grace: This is the length of time the card issuer allows you before they begin charging you interest on new purchases. (NB: not all credit card issuers give a grace period).

Keyrings, ribbons, even measuring tapes–all of these are perfect examples of favors that you can give to your guests. There are so many different types of favors to choose from that the array can be almost dizzying. The most attractive and impressive favors, however, are from crystal and glass. Your guests will really love the elegance of these gifts and appreciate your thoughtfulness. But how to use them? Read on!
Think about your budget , first and foremost. How much have you set aside for favors for guests? There is a wide range of prices, from budget friendly to very expensive. And cheaper favors may mean shoddy workmanship. If that’s the case, the appearance may put off your guests. Why buy junk for your guests and run the risk of having them leave it behind? Think before you buy.
A theme is the most effective way to show these favors off for best results. A spring wedding might have tiny trees as gifts. A fall wedding could use large glass oak leaves. And a cowboy wedding could have hats and horses. Any of these can be colored to suit the occasion. You could go with a standard coloring, or match them to the wedding colors. Your guests will be amazed by what can be done with simple glass and crystal!
If you feel you can’t afford glass or crystal ornaments, feel free to use acrylic instead. This material is sturdy and inexpensive, but has the same beauty and can be cut in the same manner as glass or crystal. Acrylic scratches, however, are difficult to polish out. On the other hand, it is very difficult to shatter an acrylic favor than the other two. Searching the web can result in many options, but you may not necessarily find exactly what you’re looking for. If that happens to be the case, you can ask for custom favors to be made by a local shop. The more information you provide them, the more likely it is that you will get exactly what you desire. The unique nature of your favors will impress your guests and give your reception a personal touch.
You may, however, prefer to use glass or crystal instead of acrylic. Bear in mind that each one has benefits and flaws. Glass is more fragile. Crystal is heavier. Glass has less variety; crystal has more. Glass can be bent and shaped into any form. Crystal must be carved or laser cut. Both can be dyed to any color you like. You may even choose to use both in order to maximize your impact on your guests.
There are many different ways to distribute the favors. You could have them already on the table for the guests so they can find their seats easily. A simple name tag would take care of placement. You could have someone else pass them out, like the person in charge of the guest book or the ring bearer. There’s nothing like having someone hand a favor to each guest with a cheery smile and a friendly, “Welcome to the reception! Your seat is right there.” This personal touch is something that everyone will love, and no one will forget.
Glass and crystal favors can reflect on your wedding (pardon the pun) in a very positive way. They lend a classy, elegant air to your reception, often without you spending a lot of money. Your guests will adore these favors, and they will admire your taste. A wedding only comes once, so make it special!

Most people vacuum their carpets regularly but neglect to have them actually cleaned. If you want to get your carpets deep cleaned where more than just the surface dirt is removed, what are your options? You really only have two of them and they are to do it yourself with your own machine or hire a professional to do the job.
If you were to go out and buy your own middle of the line carpet cleaning machine, your carpets would get cleaned but probably not as thoroughly as they would by a professional cleaner. Most carpet cleaning machines on the market are about the size of a big vacuum cleaner and at that size they clearly dont have the power of an industrial machine. From this standpoint, the professionals machines will probably give your carpets the best deep cleaning.
If you really need your carpet cleaned, and I mean deeply cleaned or steam cleaned so they have the best chance of looking new, you have a couple of options. You can go out and buy one of the best carpet cleaning machines on the market that are expensive and do it yourself, or you can call a professional. The question is whether that machine you might buy in a store will do as good a job as a professional who has a huge machine in his truck.
If you have carpets that have been neglected and are looking to get them as new looking as possible, hiring a professional cleaner is clearly your best choice. They have the bigger more expensive machines that have cleaning power unmatched in any machine you can buy at the store. Additionally, they have the knowledge of how to clean the carpet and give it the best shampoo and steam cleaning possible. For instance, if you were going to sell your house you might want to use the professional who could do a better job than you could.
If you have pets though, you will want to proactively keep on top of your carpets with periodic cleaning that you can do less expensively yourself. For the periodic cleaning, buying or renting a machine is an economical choice that is probably the wisest one. There are good steam cleaners and shampoo machines that will do a great job of keeping your carpet fresh and smelling good without the big bill that comes from a professional in a truck.

Your guest book might seem like a simple trifle to have at your wedding. Not very important, and one more obstacle between your guests and the reception. But the wedding guest book is a record of the people who have come to share in your special day. Not only that, but most of these people will leave their best wishes and (or course) contact information. Because they are giving you the gift of your presence, you should at least give them the gift of a beautiful book to write it in. Here are some things to consider when you get your guest book and pen.
Your guest book should be more than a school notebook or a few stapled sheets of paper. Your wedding will be classy and elegant, and remember that the first thing your guests will see is your guest book. They deserve to have something lovely and elegant to write in. By the same token, don’t leave an old, half used pen for your guests to use. Make it pretty and useful–something that they will look twice at before writing in your book. Again, your wedding is special; reinforce this by your choice of guest book and pen.
This is not to say, of course, that your guest book has to be a standard white faux leather covered number with gold lettering. Feel free to make it original. Why not create stationery and have your guests sign that? Or find a journal with nice lined paper and use that as a guest book. You could be even more creative and use a large stuffed toy and a permanent pen for your guests. Or frame a large, professionally done picture of yourself and your spouse to be and have a pen ready to sign it.
As far as pens are concerned, feather pens and fancy gold and silver pens are nice, but there is still room for creativity. Magic markers and Sharpies are just as effective, as are metallic pens. In certain venues, even crayons might be suitable for writing. And, of course, there is always pencil. Make sure that your choice of writing utensil is consistent with your choice of guest book. Using a monogrammed pen may work with stationery, but crayons may not work with a journal type book.
Wedding pens do not always mean “the pen with which one writes in the guest book.” They can also be given as favors. Imagine your guests’ faces when they realize that the pen that they are using at the table is theirs to keep! Ideally, you would give them the pens first, then direct them to the guest book. This can be arranged by having the guest book on the other side of the room, as opposed to being the entrance to the reception hall. Once your guests enter, they will find their seats and, of course, their pen. They will then see (or be directed to) the guest book on the other side of the hall, where they will find the guest book to sign with their favor. This is a perfect example of uniqueness and originality in your wedding.
Your guest book is important, but it does not have to be dull and ordinary. Make it a reflection of you and your future spouse–a teddy bear, some stationery, a framed picture. Your creativity will make your wedding truly yours, and make it unforgettable.

Online shopping is quickly becoming the primary method of buying goods and services. The internet offers an almost endless supply of goods at competitive prices.
It is increasingly difficult to find a retail store that has a good selection as these stores dwindle down. Because of this online malls are growing tremendously.
Last weel I found an advertisement at a retail store that had a backpack I was looking for. I though this was great because I thought I could save a little money with the sale. However when I got there the store only carried one color and it was not the color I was looking for. The sales associate at the store told me they could get one in about a week.
I left the store and did what many other have done. I went online and ordered one at a cheaper price. After the order went through the pack was at my door in four days.
It is no wonder that so many stores are failing. In my opinion the customer service levels have dropped considerably as well as store inventory. It is only a matter a time until the stores with bad service and supply close for good; I can name a few however for now, just watch the news.
Internet malls offer just about anything you are looking for; from fragrances, jewelry, apparel to gaming consoles and car parts.
In my opinion internet malls are the way to go. Most are set up similar to a department store. As you enter the website you have different departments to browse through to find what you are looking for. The difference is when you are online, you can find what you want in two or three clicks.
Shopping online can save you gas and also lower your stress levels. There is no fighting for that parking spot or dealing with less than happy people. So why not shop online.
With my past experience, online shopping is the way to go. About one year ago I purchased a product from a retail store that has closed down. At this point if something happens to item I am out. The warranty is no longer active. Just a bit of advice, if you buy at retail, ask them what happens to the warranty if the store closes its doors.

HP’s TX2000 is a unique touch screen laptop by being the only of its kind to have a digitizer display. There are some improvements from the previous model, the TX1000, which includes some system updates as well as improved functionality in tablet mode.
The laptop has been improved aesthetically with a more consistent body casing color and added arrows at the hinge pointing out the direction of the swivel screen to. Not much else has changed and it very closely resembles the previous model.
There are a handful of design ingenuities that users could appreciate off the bat. One of them being the placement of speakers on the hinge which makes media viewing in tablet mode ideal since it points at the user unlike standard laptops that point away.
Despite being a touch screen laptop, it will still work in standard laptop mode most of the time. For this reason the keyboard will still be used heavily and users can look forward to the same smooth tactile feedback keyboard. The only problem is the noise of the keys which will wear down with some use.
As with all new laptops today, this one comes with standard wireless support of a/g/b WIFI as well as Bluetooth. It also comes with a 5-in-1 card reader which is very convenient to have in this age of high tech media, as well as three USB 2.0 ports which seems like a standard design with most HP branded laptop computers and S-video.
The 12.1 inch widescreen has a native resolution of 1280×800, which is comparable for such a small display. Clarity is only fair and off-angle viewing is well below average but shows improvement in brightness over the previous model. And while the ultra glossy screen looks nice, it is very reflective and not recommended for use outdoors or in very bright environments.
A 4.26 pound laptop sounds light but for a 12.1 inch, it really is on the heavier side. Most of the extra weight comes from the added tablet mode functionality. For an entertainment focused machine its speed is average and graphics is below average.
One of the pros in HP designs is the fan location underneath the base of the laptop which does a good job of mitigating noise during operation. Heat becomes an issue when the touch screen laptop is in full tablet form because the fan then blows the hot air directly onto the user’s leg.
HP has brought some great products to the market with thoughtful design and innovation. This touch screen laptop is unlike others in its targeting at being a media computer. And for the extensive battery life it is quite a deal for all the features packed inside. But for a touch screen laptop, it’s on screen recognition is not as accurate as we would like it to be.

Wintertime is a perfect time for a wedding. Peace on earth and good will toward men reigns, and it’s the best time to get cozy with your loved one. If you plan poorly, however, you could end up with a wedding right out of “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” This article will help you plan a winter wedding that won’t have your guests asking, “What’s this?”
First of all, let’s talk about favors. Winter has so many symbols that it’s easy to find some that are right for you. Silver snowflakes add a charming touch, as do tiny tealights–the light within the darkness. You could do your own take on the tradition of having the guests ring a bell for the couple to kiss, and put strings of jingle bells on the table instead. Wedding guests always love this activity, and the jingle bells will provide a personal touch that they will love even more.
Music is an important part of the wedding, but even more so for the reception. Along with regular music for your dancing pleasure, slip in a few holiday tunes. “Let it Snow” is a classic, as is “Jingle Bell Rock”. Perhaps your first dance can be a slow dance to something like “Baby It’s Cold outside”. Your guests will dance the night away, inspired by the Christmas spirit.
For the wedding itself, you can start the theme off with the bride’s dress. There are very beautiful wedding dresses available with a winter theme; some are adorned with faux fur or include a tasteful stole. Or you could have the bridesmaids wear dresses that reflect the theme; perhaps a snowflake pattern or even snowman hair ornaments would work. These ideas would be subtle yet stylish enough to make the theme functional.
The bride could make a grand entrance in a horse drawn sleigh, with her bridesmaids and family riding with her. The groom could ride in on a single horse for his debut. After the ceremony, the reception could be held in an ice hotel (it’s warmer than you think!) or at an ice skating rink. Invite the guests to dress up in Victorian costume–there’s nothing like having a large group reenacting a scene straight out of a Victorian postcard!
Decorations for this type of event are easy. Twinkling lights would be beautiful along the walls, with silver streamers to reflect the light. The tables can be covered with tablecloths that have holly or ivy on them. Fake snow can be sprinkled on the table, and gifts can be put into a large sled. Your guests will be thrilled with the decor! Make it a party for them. Hire someone to play Santa and ask them what they want for Christmas. This will keep the kids happy, make the parents grateful, and give your day a little less stress. You can also get carolers to regale your guests with holiday songs, either during the wedding or during the reception. Imagine the looks on your guests’ faces when you walk in to a sung version of “Here Comes the Bride”, done, perhaps, by a local children’s choir.
Last but not least, the food can reflect your theme. Serve winter favorites like Irish coffee and mulled wine to your guests. Have something for the kids too, like mulled cider and hot chocolate. As far as food, anything goes. A roast turkey would be great; a roast goose would be even better. And for dessert, try a lovely flaming plum pudding.
A winter wedding is an opportunity to show your style and individuality. Make sure you plan and communicate with each other in order to make it work. With this type of foresight, you can have a wedding that will be unforgettable.
